Towns are formed by players who claim a piece of land which cannot be griefed by non-residents. They can join Nations to receive bonuses and support from other players.

What is a chunk?
F3 + G on your keyboard.Creating a town costs money which can be seen on the right of your screen or by doing /bal.
Towns cost $2,000 to create.
Once you've found a suitable location to found your town you can do /t new (town name) to start your town.
To view information about your town you can do /t or /town.
It is recommended you do F3 + G and have the SovereignMC map open whilst claiming land.
Newly founded chunks automatically start with one chunk which is the chunk you are standing on when you created it.
Before you start claiming chunks, you need to deposit money inside your town by doing /t deposit (amount).
To claim chunks, you can do /t claim and rinse and repeat on the chunks you wish to claim.
Do keep in mind when claiming land:
$25 to claim a new chunk.$2 per chunk.limit to how many chunks you can claim./t buy bonus.Towns have a daily upkeep which is collected every 24 hours at UTC+0 00:00.
Towns have a base upkeep of $30.
If you do not manage to pay the upkeep for your town, your town will be deleted and all the protections it provides will be gone. This includes:

Outskirts will be explained in depth in the War guide (Work in progress).
All towns inherently have a boundary / frontier zone called Outskirts which extend a few chunks away from the town's proper claims.
Outskirts will behave as if they were the proper claims of the town and will receive all the protections that normal claims do.
However, Outskirts will behave differently during battles / sieges.
